When it comes to professional construction, tools need to do more than perform in ideal conditions; they need to stand up to the demands of a busy site, day after day. From first-fix carpentry to finishing work, reliability, power and efficiency are essential, and tradespeople often stick with the brands they know and trust.
So, we wanted to find out: how would the Festool cordless system perform on a live Bellway Homes site?
To answer that question, we partnered with Bellway on an active residential construction site, Trilogy, in Greater Manchester. Rather than creating a controlled product demonstration, we gave tradespeople the opportunity to replace the tools they use every day with Festool cordless alternatives throughout different stages of the build. Carpenters, decorators and other trades were invited to put the tools to work in real site conditions, carrying out the tasks they know best.
Before the trial began, Festool trainer Gordon visited the site to introduce the cordless system, demonstrate the tools, and explain how features such as the shared battery platform, dust extraction solutions and the integrated system approach could benefit each trade. Giving everyone the chance to get hands-on with the products helped build confidence and ensured they could get the most from the tools throughout the trial.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Across the site, tradespeople commented on the performance, ergonomics and practicality of the tools, with many saying they would happily continue using Festool as part of their everyday work. Their feedback reinforced what the trial set out to prove: the Festool cordless system is built not only for precision, but also for the demands of modern construction sites.
