Routers

A router is equipped with a powerful electric motor which operates at between 10,000 and 24,000 revolutions per minute. This professional tool, which has been developed for manual operation, allows users to precisely route chamfers and grooves, as well as to profile every type of workpiece. In addition, it is ideal for routing with templates or freehand routing. The router is a tool which is intuitive to operate thanks to its torsionally rigid base plate, interchangeable base runners which can be changed without tools and copying rings as well as uncomplicated router changeover. No workshop should be without one – particularly in combination with additional products from the Festool system, such as the right extractor, guide rails and multi-routing templates.

WORK
Parquet par excellence
Anyone who orders parquet flooring from the Finnish family business Witick will receive far more than standard "off the rack" flooring. The three brothers – Stephan, Carl and Sixten – offer their customers a stunning range of perfectly designed floorings with passion and a keen eye for detail. The parquet flooring they create is more like a work of art than a conventional parquet floor. We accompanied the team on an order and got to the bottom of things in an interview.
WORK
Precision down to the final flourish
Solid wood carvings and other ornaments are the hallmarks of this traditional furniture style, which originates from the Polish city of Gdańsk. Centuries of tradition and manual dexterity are reflected in the handmade wooden objects. We visited the MebS furniture joinery and watched the experts at work.

At home with makers
Hafven in Hanover is a fertile breeding ground for creative makers and all those aspiring to be just that. The co-working and makerspace recently celebrated its first birthday – with a table football set. Self-built, of course.
