How to identify what size circular saw I need?

The TS55 plunge saw from Festool enables a guided 50mm depth of cut when used in conjunction with the FS rail system, and a 55mm depth of cut when used with the guide rail. This is suitable for kitchen worktops and most 2nd fix work in the UK.

Technologies for circular saws
KickbackStop icon

KickbackStop

The intelligent KickbackStop prevents dangerous kickbacks when sawing and plunging into the workpiece. A sensor detects that the saw blade is jamming and stops the motor within a fraction of a second. This minimises the risk of injury when working with the plunge-cut saw and protects the workpiece.

Splinter guard

Splinter guard

The splinter guard on the rail and machine ensures splinter-free cuts on both sides when sawing with the circular saw. For longitudinal and cross cuts in wood and coated materials, it prevents tearing of the edges and improves the cutting result. The splinter guard also increases the cutting quality when using the circular saw for angular and mitre cuts.

Guide system

Guide system

Invented and perfected by the manufacturer Festool: The guide rail. For safe and zero-play guidance even for long cuts and grooves with the circular saw. For even more precision and ease of work, the guide system offers screw clamps and lever clamps as well as cross-cutting guide rails, for repeat cuts at the correct angle with the plunge-cut circular saw.

FastFix

FastFix

The FastFix spindle stop makes it extremely easy to change the saw blade. The clamping flange means that the saw blades of plunge-cut circular saws can be replaced without tools and without snagging. The correct saw blade is fitted in just a few steps for work with the circular saw that is adapted to the material.

Put an end to chaos in your home office

Take a look at this application example, we're creating a storage space with an opening, embedded in a desk, for neatly storing a laptop immediately after work so that you can use the table for other purposes. The compartment can also be used for other inlays. As the cut out is being reinstalled as a open and close lid. We want to keep the grain the same, the cut must be absolutely splinter-free on the right and left of the saw blade. The plunge-cut saw with scoring function helps us to achieve this.

Routing

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for routing a countertop made up of multiple segment arcs and the corresponding sawing process. Additional tips are provided to ensure that users can perform their work carefully without damaging the material.

Working without kickbacks
Particularly when carrying out drilling and sawing work, the forces between the workpiece and the machine can suddenly increase, potentially with serious consequences for the tradesperson. With the new KickbackStop technology, which is used for the first time in the QUADRIVE TDC 18/4 and TPC 18/4 cordless drills and the new TSC 55 K cordless plunge-cut saw, these kickbacks are now a thing of the past. In an interview, lead developer Markus Schmid looks in detail at how this technology works in these types of machines.
