Festool with you everyday: Revisiting Rory Parker
For Rory, co-owner of ParkerRose Interiors in Cambridgeshire quality of work is not just a nice to have, it’s a core value of the business. From bespoke kitchen builds and workshop joinery to site ready precision installations, Rory has come to reply on tools that just work for him.
Rory’s journey with Festool started a long time ago, rooted in his early days learning trade skills with his dad and progressing into high-end kitchen installations. He was later selected as a winner in Festool’s “With You Everyday” campaign, awarding him £10,000-worth of tools and giving him even more opportunity to test and refine his kit on his jobs.
Rory has 4 new favourite tools that are already reshaping the way he works, cordless tools that give him power, precision and freedom on site and in the workshop.
1. Cordless Planer HLC 82 – “A long-anticipated addition and a big step forward for the Festool cordless platform. Having every necessary tool available on batteries makes site work far easier. Impressed with its capacity and how cleanly it trims — planing doors and fillers will be an absolute breeze.”
2. Cordless Domino Joining Machine DFC 500 – “No cords make this far more ergonomic, and the stops now match the XL, which is a great improvement. When you see it alongside the original, you realise how much of a needed upgrade this is. We use the Domino constantly on site for joining doors and fillers, so this is a real productivity boost.”
3. Cordless Circular Saw HKC 55 K – “The better brother to the original HKC55, this packs a serious punch and is a huge upgrade. We’ll be using this primarily for ripping sheet materials and any truss work. Power, accuracy and portability all in one.”
4. Cordless Edge Router OFKC 500 – “I’ve had the corded version for a while and always loved it, but going cordless makes it even more versatile. It’s extremely easy to use and very functional. The dust extraction adapter is particularly smart — we’ve been using this a lot recently on MDF and solid timber and it’s seriously powerful for its size.”
For Rory choosing Festool is about what
helps him deliver better results, that’s something that’s consistently come
through in his working life and his relationship with Festool systems.
From the way the tools preform in the workshop and out on site, the everyday reliability and service support behind them, the focus remains the same: tools that make your work easier, faster and more precise.
