Located far away from civilisation and electricity, the project required full battery power without the need for cords and cables. In addition to Festool power tools like the TSC 55 plunge-cut saw and the T 18 and C 18 cordless drills, the team relied on locally sourced raw materials or recycled materials. Extraordinary details make this special pub stand out. Aside from the beer pump and sleek bar inside, the folding door is a particular highlight. It can be folded up with a clever mechanism, opening up the view onto a large patio with two hanging chairs. "We only used locally sourced larch wood for construction. The warm appearance of the wood makes the pub feel very homely and comfortable. The construction method used is another important aspect. We needed to use lightweight materials, which also had to provide a great deal of support and stability since the pub is built on stilts above a small stream. That was the only way to implement our operating concept of using hydropower," designer Huggins proudly explains.
