100 years of Festool. We want to say thank you.

For 100 years, we have been giving our all to help you achieve more. And we are proud that some of our innovations have left a mark on professional craftsmanship: For easier, quicker and healthier work. Thank you for your trust. We want to express our deep gratitude with our limited-edition 100th-anniversary products: the Systainer – now in the SYS ECO Systainer³ recycled version.

Robustly building on tradition. A pioneer since it was created.

For over 30 years, you have appreciated our Systainers – not only as a reusable container but, above all, as a versatile and practical organisation and transport system. They are often used for many years, are simply indestructible and therefore are truly sustainable. To mark our 100th anniversary, we're taking another step in the direction of sustainability with the Systainer³ SYS ECO 100, which is primarily made from recycled plastics.

A step towards even greater sustainability: Reused plastics in a Systainer.

The body of the black SYS ECO Systainer³ is made of high-quality recycled materials, consisting of 65% used plastic and 35% new plastic. In total, 50% less CO2 is generated when manufacturing the material for this Systainer compared with the previous standard plastics. At the same time, the SYS ECO Systainer³ is just as robust and temperature-resistant as you would expect and know from all of our Systainers.

How much CO2 does the production of the Systainer³ SYS ECO 100 material save compared to "normal" Systainer material?

The production of the Systainer³ SYS ECO 100 material produces 50% less CO2 than previous standard plastics. This was calculated in accordance with ISO 14040/14044.

Is the Systainer³ SYS ECO 100 made entirely from recycled material?

The body of the black Systainer³ SYS ECO 100 is made of high-quality recycled material, which consists of approx. 65% used plastic and approx. 35% new plastic. The used plastic, in turn, is made up of plastic waste that has already gone through a life cycle. It is not industrial waste, but post-consumer material. However, the green T-LOC still consists of the previous plastic.

Why is it black and not grey or dark blue like the Festool products or Systainers?

The source material comes, for example, from used televisions, notebooks, telephones, computers, etc., which all have different colours. Therefore, the sum of all colours is black.

Will the material of all Systainers be changed to the Systainer³ SYS ECO 100 material in future? And will your Systainers therefore all be black in future?

With the Systainer³ SYS ECO, we are sending out a signal on our 100th anniversary that we at Festool will continue to focus on sustainability in the future. However, there is still a lot of experience to be gained as to whether and for which products new sustainable recycled materials can be used. Many criteria play a role here: material properties, material availability, procurement costs and much more. For this reason, there are currently no plans to switch all Systainer³ to this ECO version. This means that not all Systainers will be black in future either.

Is the quality of the Systainer³ SYS ECO just as good as the "normal Systainer"? What about the robustness and temperature resistance of the Systainer³ SYS ECO?

The Systainer³ SYS ECO is just as robust, impact-resistant, rigid, indestructible, temperature-resistant and will last just as long as our previous Systainers. This Systainer³ SYS ECO has been tested using the same test protocol as the series.
